Craig Rochelle of Hackettstown, NJ and Orefield, PA’s Tim Henry waged a race-long battle in the 20-lap headliner on the pavement at Mountain Speedway Saturday night. At the checkers Rochelle notched his first Keystone Legends Tour victory of the season as Henry settled for second with Tim Bauer, current point leader Rodney Kistler, and Roy Danner rounding out the top five.

Justin Grim led the opening two circuits of the main event before losing the handle off turn two and spinning from the lead. Rochelle assumed command over Bauer, Henry, Kistler and Danner on the restart and Henry immediately moved to the runner-up spot and launched an assault in the top groove. Rochelle and Henry spent the next fifteen laps running door handle to door handle battling for the top spot. Rochelle led laps three through six before Henry made the high groove work for three laps. Rochelle regained command for the next two laps before Henry took over for three more. On the fifteenth circuit Rochelle nosed ahead for three more laps until a spin by Vinnie Keller in traffic on the frontstretch brought out the caution. Rochelle was perfect over the final two laps with Henry second, ahead of Bauer and Kistler, who had their own race-long battle just a car length behind the leaders. Danner finished a solid fifth ahead of George Abt, Jim Baker, Justin Mulea, Drew Weisser, and Shawn Benzeleski. Heat races were won by Henry and Rochelle.

On Saturday, August 11, the Keystone Legends Tour will stop at the quarter mile dirt at Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, NY for a regional qualifier for the INEX dirt nationals to be held at I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, MO on September 21-22, 2007. The Tour race originally scheduled for Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, PA on Friday, August 17, has been moved to Friday, August 31.
