Jason Rochelle of Schnecksville, PA started outside the front row, took the lead on the opening lap and led all twenty circuits to apparently win his first Keystone Legends Tour race of 2007 Saturday night at Five Mile Point Speedway. Josh Morrow moved into second on lap three and pressured Rochelle the entire distance as Jim Baker, Tim Bauer, and Rodney Kistler completed the top five. At the finish Stephen Nederostek, Tim Henry, Justin Mulea, Brian Weitzel, and Randy Kissinger rounded out the top ten. Unfortunately for Rochelle, his car failed post-race tech, giving Josh Morrow his first Tour victory of the season. Information regarding the confiscated parts from tech was forwarded to INEX, the national sanctioning body, on Monday, 8-13. Upon appeal by Rochelle’s car owner, the parts were forwarded to INEX and their final decision upheld the original ruling on Friday, 8-17. Heat races for the 24-car field were won by Morrow and Jason Rochelle. The Tour returns to Linda’ Speedway in Jonestown, PA, but the event originally scheduled for Friday, August 17, has been moved to Friday, August 31. The Tour will also compete at Linda’s on Friday, September 14, before the season finale at Five Mile Point on Saturday, October 13.
