Binghampton, NY’s Jason Urso made a successful return to the dirt track circuit by taking the 20-lap Keystone Legends Tour season finale at Five Mile Point Speedway Saturday afternoon. After spending the season on asphalt Urso used his heat race as a dirt track tuneup, started twelfth in the “A” Main, and took the lead from early pacesetter John Troyan with two laps to go to score his first Keystone Legends Tour win of the season. Troyan and Shawn Belzeleski brought the field to the green with Troyan jumping in front over Benzeleski, Howard Hunter, Justin Grim, and Geroge Abt. Abt advanced to fourth on lap six and one lap later Geremey Sheaffer arrived in the top five from his eleventh starting slot. Sheaffer’s charge to the front in the outside groove ended on lap eight when Hunter drove low in turn three, got into the mud at the inside of the track and slid up the track and collected Sheaffer, ending the event for both drivers.

Urso raced into the top five on lap nine, passed Clinton Penkauskas one lap later and stormed past Robyn Delabar and Abt in turn four as lap twelve went into the books. Urso made repeated challenges to take the lead from Troyan without success, but a dive to the bottom off turn two on lap eighteen proved to be the winning move. Abt got under Troyan with the white flag flying and Tim Henry grabbed third on the final tour. Troyan hung on for fourth at the checkers as Robyn Delabar posted her first top five finish in Tour competition. Penkauskas, asphalt regular Cory Gregg, Roy Danner, Craig Rochelle, and Rodney Kistler rounded out the top ten.

Heat races for the 24-car field were won by Troyan and Justin Grim. Rodney Kistler of Kempton, PA became the 2007 Keystone Legends Tour Champion with his tenth place finish. Following Kistler in the final point standings were Tim Henry, Craig Rochelle, George Abt, and Roy Danner.
