Jason Rochelle won the first ever Keystone Legends Tour race at Bridgeport Speedway on Friday night and used his victory to claim the point lead in the 2009 Tour standings.  Rochelle started eighth, took the lead from early pacesetter Paul McCollum, and held off a late race charge from last week’s Linda’s Speedway winner, Justin Grim, to post his second “A” main event win of the season.  Although Rochelle drove a solid race, he also had a bit of luck on his side when a suspension failure at the checkers put his Cooper Motorsports #148 into the frontstretch wall just after the stripe. 

Justin Grim turned in another strong performance to finish in the runner-up spot, ahead of Paul McCollum, Clinton Penkauskas, and John Gray.  Todd McCollum, Howard Hunter, Jim Black, Drew Weisser, and Ron Poley completed the top ten.

Rochelle and Tim Henry won heat races for the 18-car field. 

The Keystone Legends Tour returns to the Linda’s Speedway dirt on Friday, July 17th.
