Point leader, Jason Rochelle, posted his third main event win of the 2009 season in Friday night’s Keystone Legends Tour 20-lap headliner at Linda’s Speedway at Jonestown, PA.  Todd McCollum nipped Justin Grim at the finish line for the runner-up spot as Pat McDermott and Rodney Adams completed the top five.  John Barsuglia, Vern Houseman, Mike Brannan, Scott Houdeshell, and Tim Henry completed the top ten.

Drew Weisser and Brian Weitzel brought the field to the green on a full moon night, but the action ended before the first circuit was completed as Weisser lost the handle on his #19 off turn four, looped in front of the field and collected Weitzel and Pat McDermott.  Armed with a new front row, Adams led the opening circuit over Houseman, Tim Bauer, Henry, and Grim, but the action was red-flagged one lap later as Luke Montgomery, Clinton Penkauskas, and Rob Sobieski ended their night in the frontstretch fence.

When the event resumed Adams held the point for a dozen laps before drifting high in turn three.  Rochelle completed his run to the front from his tenth starting spot as Grim, Houdeshell, Henry, and McCollum also filed past the errant leader.  Grim’s challenge to Rochelle ended three laps from the end with ignition problems, but he gamely held off his challengers until McCollum snatched the second spot at the finish. 

The Tour will make a second appearance of the 2009 campaign at Bridgeport, NJ’s inner quarter mile on Friday, August 21 and will return to Linda’s on Friday night, August 28.
