Tim Henry of Orefield, PA won his first main event of the season for owner Howard Hunter Friday night at Linda’s Speedway.  Although Henry, the defending Tour champion, was able to score a clean sweep by taking his heat race and the 20-lap main event, Jason Rochelle of Schnecksville, PA survived a mid-race spin to claim enough points to take the season championship in his Ron Cooper owned #148. Polesitter George Abt sprinted out to lead the opening lap over Drew Weisser, Brian Weitzel, Henry, and Roy Danner.  Abt remained at the point until lap six when Henry took command as Weitzel continued in third over Lucas Montgomery and Randy Kissinger.  On the seventh circuit Gary Fenton spun his #81 in turn two and retired from the event. On the restart Henry began to stretch his lead as Abt kept his challengers at bay until point leader Jason Rochelle spun on the backstretch on lap sixteen to bring out the event’s second and final yellow.

With two to go Abt slipped high in turn two, allowing Weitzel to slip underneath for the runner-up spot.  On the white flag lap Henry’s engine began to sour and his eighth car length lead began to evaporate as Abt continued to fight a push and again soared wide in the second corner, dropping three more spots.  At the checkers Henry limped over the line with Weitzel and Kissinger four lengths back.  Lucas Montgomery notched fourth with Justin Grim fifth.  Abt came home sixth as Roy Danner, Todd McCollum, Scott Houdeshell, and Weisser rounded out the top ten. The final point tally showed Jason Rochelle on top with Tim Henry using his first win of the season to nip Justin Grim for second by only eight markers.  Todd McCollum claimed fourth and Clinton Penkauskas salvaged fifth after missing the heat race as a result of jury duty in Philadelphia earlier in the day.  Brian Weitzel, Randy Kissinger, Roy Danner, Tim Bauer, and Drew Weisser completed the top ten in the final point standings.

Grim, Jason Rochelle, and Henry won heat races for the 25-car field.
